Statistics service sees website problems, attack not excluded

MOSCOW, Sep 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service has registered malfunctioning of its website and has not ruled out a targeted attack, the authority said late on Wednesday in a statement.

“The Federal State Statistics Service informs that on September 22, after 3 p.m. Moscow time, the technical support service of the digital development department of the Federal State Statistics Service registered issues in work of the website…the experts are assessing a probability of a targeted attack on the IT resources of the Federal State Statistics Service,” the statement read.

A number of users also complained about problems when trying to access different sections of the website.
